Hong Kong Disneyland

Oh what fun we had at Disneyland. Sister Heiner, one of my favorite missionaries came with us. We went to shows, rode the rides and shopped. When they had the show on main street at about 5:00pm it snowed, real snow, disney can do anything!!!

Chelsey, Kalyn & Alissa Out & About in Hong Kong

Kalyn had flight problems so she arrived a day late. Monday we went to Stanley, Tuesday to Bid Buddha and Tai O fishing village. Chelsey was glad that she did not live in the fishing village. We went out to see the pink dolphins and actually saw them. Wednesday we went to the Peak, it is a fabulous view of Hong Kong.

USS George Washington (CVN 73)

On Remembrance Day the USS George Washington Carrier was docked in Hong Kong and we were able to go on a tour. It was a remarkable ship with 50-80 jets on board, helicopters and about 4000 crew members. It is worth several billion dollars so there is always a cruiser, battleship and two submarines that protect it.

Kowloon Walled City Park

It is a beautiful park and hard to imagine it was a big slum right in the middle of the city. Some of the seniors that were here on their missions said that they were not to enter in that area at all, apparently it was bad. Beatiful park, beautiful weather, relaxing P-day!!!

Mid Autumn Festival

We had a Senior Missionary FHE at Elder & Sister Gongs apartment to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival. We all brought lanterns and had to go out and look at the moon, a tradition of this holiday. This is when the moon is full and round, so the Chinese gather their family around a table and spend time together. They believe the full, round, light of the moon kind of represents the family.

Our Fancy New Home

We moved a couple of months ago from a small, old centrally located apartment to a small, newer but further from the office apartment. We still only have about 600 square feet but it is newer, quiet and cleaner. We love it and have adjusted to riding the bus everyday.
